One important part of the action for students in an academic anti-corruption certification program is to research and defend a research project. Successful work requires skills in writing one’s own research design, drafting the research problem, strategies for defining the research “puzzle”, operationalizing, conceptualizing and selecting indicators to measure corruption, and making a convincing case for one’s own research. Trainees of the program acquire these skills through the module “Anti-Corruption Research Methodology”. This module is taught by Alexandra Keidel, an international expert on open government policy. She is a researcher at the Free University of Berlin, a lecturer at the Interdisciplinary Anti-Corruption Research and Education Center (ACREC) of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” NaUKMA and the Kyiv School of Economics (Ukraine). Assistant analyst and project manager of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Combating Corruption Alina Los (ACREC) is an assistant and developer of the program.Academic anti-corruption certified program is implemented in cooperation with the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic with the financial support of the Soros Foundation-Kyrgyzstan.
