Corruption Prevention Network participated in the public hearing of the draft laws.

In connection with the initiation of the draft Law “On voluntary legalization and amnesty of assets of individuals” and “On amendments to certain legislative acts of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of voluntary declaration and amnesty of assets of individuals”, the Corruption Prevention Network of Kyrgyzstan (hereinafter referred to as the CPC) appealed to of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Jogorku Kenesh on the inadmissibility of its further consideration in connection with the inherent high corruption risks.

Today, representatives of the SEC took part in the parliamentary hearings on the discussion of the proposed draft laws, where they expressed their firm position to reject the consideration of these draft laws due to their inconsistency with the domestic legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, accepted international obligations under the ratified UN Convention against Corruption, the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, FATF, OECD and EAG recommendations, as well as entailing serious threats to the country, if adopted.

Representatives of the Corruption Prevention Network express their concern and call on the relevant state bodies to finalize the proposed draft laws, taking into account the proposals and recommendations received from representatives of civil society institutions.
