The guest lecture from Anna Zubenko

25.03.2022

In the nationwide index of “Personal perception of the level of corruption in state executive bodies and local authorities” at the end of 2021, the Ministry of Internal Affairs scored only 8 points out of a possible 100, and separately in Bishkek it scored minus 14 points. Public trust in the country’s law enforcement agencies is extremely low. One major reason for the lack of trust is corruption.

Anna Zubenko, co-chair of the Civic Union public association and graduate of the 2020-2021 academic anti-corruption certification programme, held a guest lecture on “Corruption in Law Enforcement Bodies”. She conducted the session in an interactive format, where attendees were able to learn more about corrupt practices in law enforcement agencies and understand what corruption is “white”, “grey” and “black”.
We thank Anna Zubenko for the lively and very interesting lecture.

The academic anti-corruption certification programme is implemented in cooperation with the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic with the financial support of the Soros Foundation-Kyrgyzstan.
