Young Leader Academy in Naryn on “The Role of Youth in Counteracting Corruption in the Electoral Process

25.11.2021

The Young Leader Academy started its work in Naryn on November 25. We continue our trainings on “The Role of Youth in Counteracting Corruption in the Electoral Process.

Corruption is found practically in all spheres of the state structure. It robs citizens of their right to justice and creates an atmosphere of despair. In order not to drive itself into lawlessness, society is looking for ways to fight and counteract corruption. The urgency of the issue is very high, because in a few days the elections to the supreme legislative body of the country will be held.

The Young Leader Academy examines the issues of political corruption, society and the state; it looks at international standards and practices of anti-corruption; democracy and corruption; and the topic of leadership in the modern world. One of the important topics of the Academy is gender and corruption. It is worth noting that today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Every year the World holds a 16-day campaign against gender violence, one of the slogans of which is “Orange the World: END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN NOW!” We don’t tolerate violence, and we can”t imagine development where it is!

The Young Leader Academy is organized by the Central Asian Research Institute on Corruption and Income Laundering in partnership with the country office of International Foundation for Elections Systems (IFES) and supported by United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
