For undergraduates of the “Effective Management and Countering of Corruption” program, a unique opportunity to meet James Wright, an international consultant with more than 25 years of experience in 27 countries, including the United States and Central Asia, took place. James is an expert on banking regulation, counteracting laundering and economic development. At the lecture, James Wright spoke about global challenges of laundering of criminal proceeds. He paid special attention to the mechanisms of laundering through real estate and subsoil use, sharing real cases and exposing the complex schemes used around the world. Expert emphasized how important it is to increase knowledge and experience in combating corruption and financial crimes. He also inspired the audience, advising to pay attention to a career in the field of compliance - a promising and highly paid area, especially in large international companies. Lecture, James Wright, a meeting with the rector of AGUPKR, Akmataliev’s rector, at which they discussed the significance of the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of combating corruption and laundering of income, mined by criminal means. “The world needs professionals who are ready to take responsibility for transparency and justice,” the rector of the Academy noted.
